The dream
Sometimes, there are
protesters who are demonstrating in the street. Indeed a lot of them were
holding some placards, some of them written in English, the other in
Spanish. They call for legalization because there are about 12 million
unauthorized migrants in the US and they no longer want to be undocumented
immigrants.
Most of the demonstrators must
come from Mexico. Some of them must have been living in the US for a long
while. They must have jobs, their children certainly attend school. They fit
into the American society. They must have got used to living in the US.
Nevertheless, the Americans
have mixed feelings about immigration. Some believe that newcomers strengthen
American society, whereas others insist that they threaten traditional American
values.
